Hues of Purple

A couple of weeks ago I was blessed to design an all purple wedding. This is my absolute favorite color and my team and myself took much pleasure in designing/arranging for this wedding. I got to try out a new rose variety in this bouquet called Early Grey and I must say that it is the most beautiful greyish lavender rose that I have ever seen!

The wedding took place at Waverly Mansion in Marriottsville Maryland. Though it turned out to be a cool, rainy day, it didn't stop the love that was felt in the air between the couple and their family and friends. Enjoy these shots of her bouquet!! - Photography credit - Kerry Paradis Photography

Grecian Styled Shoot Feature on Style Me Pretty

I have been waiting and waiting and waiting for Style Me Pretty to feature our styled Grecian shoot from this past April! If you're in the wedding industry then you understand how difficult it can be to get your foot in the door. Trends and styles come and go with the seasons, especially in the floral industry, and staying on top means keeping your eyes open at all time. But when you find the courage to set a trend by designing with your heart and then hoping that a blog like Style Me Pretty will feature, it's extremely rewarding when you  see it being displayed to the whole wedding industry.

Matoli Keely Photography is the brains behind this styled shoot. The attention to detail in her photos sets her a part from many in this industry and I am so honored to have worked with her. Beautiful hair and makeup by Jordan K. Winn & Co.

It was such a pleasure working with these ladies. We had so much fun that day. Enjoy some of my favorite photos and then take a look at the rest of them HERE.

Wedding on the Bay

Picture this, you're at a wedding standing under the most beautiful sky and the bride and groom look blissfully happy as they exchange their vows. That was the atmosphere for this rustic chic wedding at Celebrations at the Bay. Everything was perfect and the bride was one of the sweetest people I have ever met. I remember meeting her for our initial consultation and her insisting on buying me coffee. Everything for this day went perfectly.  Natalie Lane Photography really captured this day in such a beautiful way. Enjoy the photos!!!

Bridal Boudoir ~ Getting Ready

I'm so happy that I can share these photos from a sexy bridal boudoir shoot. I think this is such an intimate wedding gift from bride to groom. The oh so talented and creative photographer, Julie Socher Photography was such a pleasure to work with and I was very surprised and excited when she told me that she wanted to include some floral pieces in this shoot. Julie, thanks so much for this opportunity!!! Enjoy the photos :)

"It's A Girl!" - The Frank Baby Shower

This past weekend I was given the honor of being a part of a very important baby shower. I say important because the mom-to-be was friend/mentor of mine since high school. When I first started blogging last year I kicked off my first post with a tribute to her because she inadvertently helped me "plant seeds" for this idea I had of becoming a floral designer for weddings and events. I've learned and designed a lot since that first post and was completely honored when I was asked by her sister to provide decor for this owl themed teal and fuchsia colored baby shower. The baby shower took place at Smith Commons in Washington DC on the second floor. I absolutely loved the character of this building. All the exposed brick, dark wood, and vintage furniture was the perfect tone for this extraordinary baby shower. Enjoy the photos.

Teal and Pink wall decal that I created will hang on the wall in the baby's room when she's born.

I really did love the chalk board welcome sign

Everyone loved these cute turquoise and fuchsia bud vases

Loved these miniature ceramic owls

Toya's beautiful sister utilizing baby onsies instead of a sign in book. How creative was that!

This Mother's Day

This past Mother's Day was the epitome of everything I am and strive to be as wife, mother, and business owner. I started my Sunday off in prayer and worship at church and then headed to the store for the final  touches to an afternoon brunch with my mother. Then came the finger laceration and the trip to the emergency room with my son right by my side ensuring me that everything would be fine. Finally home, I ended the day having quality time with my husband watching our favorite show. I didn't realize it then, but I'm truly grateful to be a wife, mother, and daughter. Even more, I'm more blessed to fit my floral business around the roles that are most important in my life. This Mother's Day, around church, brunch and the visit to the ER, I got to design this bouquet for a classic Sunday wedding in Annapolis that was so beautifully captured by Maureen Flynn Photography. And then and there, I finally realized that I am well on my way. What a wonderful and exciting place to be in my career! Enjoy these blush and white peonies below.
